Cerritos Surf Town Boutique Beachfront Bungalow Hotel Resort

Cerritos Surf Town Resort Aahhh Cerritos, a beachfront paradise where the nature of Southern Baja mixes with the cool surf culture. The laid back atmosphere is contagious. This is a perfect choice where you can let your guard down and allow your spirit to fly…

This small surfing town is a short and beautiful drive northwest of Cabo San Lucas located on the cooler Pacific side of Los Cabos. It has one of the very best beaches for all sorts of water sports due to the gradual shallow sandy beach. This allows swimming, boogie boarding, skimming and surfing for all skill levels.Cerritos Surf Town has an enviable location right in the middle of the action. Just a few miles down the road from the highway you enter the property thru a palm-lined drive and you can instantly feel your stress melt away. This has been a favorite for not just surfers but for anyone looking for an alternative to the big resorts in Cabo. This is barefoot luxury in the best sense. The staff is attentive and happy. The restaurant is under a palapa perched just above the beach with a great view and a delicious menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The oversized grand pool has a swim-up bar and is one of the best parts of this boutique resort. Surprisingly large for such a small affordable hotel. The large lounging beds are well-spaced giving you plenty of privacy in the back area or move forward to hear the music and watch the surfing. This is a great place for a long weekend, a long stay, or a family reunion, event, or wedding. Book a massage on the beach, take a day trip to Todos Santos or learn to surf, the options are wide and the margaritas are cold.On Sundays, they have live music that draws locals that come spend the day with a day pass. Currently, Daline Jones and Diego Rivera serenade us with their flowing Jazz Duo selections.Day passes are great but there is something special about booking an oceanfront villa bungalow and watching the spectacular sunsets. In the winter whale season, you will be amazed by how close in these gentle giants like to play. This is their breeding grounds so they are usually seen daily. Don’t forget to look behind you to see beautiful Sierra de la Lagunas mountain range where the full moons make their entrance. The lack of city lights makes star gazing another magical evening event. There are 9 different villas to choose from ranging from Roomy studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom villas. All have palapa roofs, Half are beachfront the others have garden views just one row back. Some have AC but you may only need that in the middle of summer. The weather is springlike year-round. Each villa has a large shaded deck with sitting areas and a nice hammock for lounging. You can be active and take advantage of all the natural outdoor adventures or sit back and let the laid back Baja lifestyle envelop you.If you are looking for a real beach vacation away from the crowds, where you immediately feel like you belong, give Cerritos Surf Town Resort a try. You will be glad you did and will dream of your return. And if you want to have your own place here, Portus Group is currently constructing its newest Soleado condo project right on the beach next door! Various condos, villas, and lots are for sale in this area. Please inquire about anything you have in mind. We are here to assist you in your Baja Life and investment goals.

Acre, farm to table restaurant

What started as a mango farm on 25 acres in the heart of San Jose farm land, Acre has evolved into a restaurant, bar, hotel and events center. Upon arrival the walk to the restaurant is through lush vegetation and canopies of palms, mangos and centuries old Cardon cactus. The modern concrete design of the place blends wonderfully with the farm to table restaurant. We dined on their brunch menu at the bar area. We were greeted by the mascot Burrito, a recent rescued Burro who thinks he is a puppy. Oakley was not too sure about that description and kept a watchful eye.

The open kitchen gives diners a show. These chefs are blessed with freshly grown ingredients and utilize a wood fired bbq.

The bar is a world unto it self with a tasting room for the house tequila. The mixologists have award winning drinks and there is no lack of variety. We chose the Ojo Rojos to go with our brunch. The simple salad was a delight with fresh arugula, radishes and tomato picked that morning at the farm, the ricotta cheese was also hand made fresh and the beet crostini gave it a nice crunch. I chose the hearty Bacon Ranch Fried Chicken Sammy with sweet potatoes chips. Both were delicious. The farm to table concept is alive and well in this area with both Flora Farms and Tamarindo restaurants close by.

Team Cabos Finest always enjoy doing restaurant reviews and this was another chance to spend some time at this amazing destination. The grounds include the farm, pool area, events lawn, fire pits, bocci ball, trail systems through out the grounds and hotel tree-houses. The Acre animal family includes peacocks, roosters, Nigerian dwarf goats, puppies needing a home, and don’t forget Burrito the burro.

The tree-houses are rustic meets modern with walls constructed of locally used branches. These sit high up off the ground with nice intimacy and privacy. We spoke to some couples who were enjoying their stay and all seemed thrilled with this unique hotel concept. Nightly rates start at $275. Each tree-house has a king sized bed, a small bathroom, outdoor shower, wi-if and patio overlooking the grounds. Stays include daily two-course breakfast, morning yoga, and free rein to enjoy all the ever-growing grounds have to offer.

The restaurant and bar are the center of attention and the heart of acre. The staff are all smiles and happy to make your meal an experience. Savor it in Chef Luzande’s food, a marriage of global influences and local ingredients that evolves with the seasons. Taste it in their innovative cocktail program, with award-winning concoctions.

Aerial view, Villa Santa Cruz, Todos Santos BCS

If quaint boutique laid-back luxe on a surf beach is your desire, Villa Santa Cruz will exceed your expectations. Only 5 minutes from downtown Todos Santos but a world away from the lights and paved roads.

This is the Baja that dreams are made of. Rarely do you encounter a vacation property that has an attention to detail so finely engrained that even their house tequila is custom labeled in a barrel. The property was purchased in 2001 and slowly developed into this unmistakably delightful retreat. With only four suites in this hacienda style home on acreage you wonder how they can offer so many amenities for such a modest price. The grounds are meticulously maintained. Rooms are each unique and what great, comfortable bedding. The towels and robes are lush. The pool area is just steps from the house and will make you forget about the gorgeous beach until you desire a surf session or a long walk down the beach. The double decked palapa has shaded hammocks on the beach and the second story is like its own living room in a tree house with views that seem endless. The home is a two story hacienda with comfortable shared living space on the ground level and the four separate suites on the second level. The stairs are an engineering marvel made of steel and glass tiles. The roof deck enjoys a bar, living area and a fire pit for those cooler desert evenings. Star gazing on the roof is perfect since there are no city lights, especially on evenings with no moon. The villa is so comfortable and well equipped that you won’t want to leave. We were planning a nice dinner in Todos Santos with plenty of exceptional options but decided to cook in and enjoy the place to ourselves. The open kitchen is a gourmet’s delight plus BBQ grill equipped with everything for a large or small group. Villa Santa Cruz is built on over 20 acres with plans to expand starting this June. 8 stilted cabanas are scheduled to be built surrounding the pool in a tasteful way that will continue to offer intimate privacy. This relaxed and casual atmosphere is popular for individuals, as a group retreat and for weddings.Breakfast is complimentary and was an event unto itself with coffee, fresh juice, bagels, cereals, and an amazing eggs Benedict. They rotate the menu so every morning brings a new option. We set up a late check out the next day and spent most of the morning bouncing between the second story palapa and the heated pool. Proprietors Matt and Jessica Canepa live on site in a separate home and are there for anything you need, obviously devoted to making your stay a wonderful experience. We were sad to pack up and actually drive away. Oakley our devoted mascot looked even sadder and had to be literally dragged back to the truck. Well every great stay comes to an end but the great news is we get to return and see the expansions underway. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated!
